Osmosis
“Return to the essence, to the articulated speech with the minimum possible means”. These are the words through which Christos Dimitriou describes the photographs which are presented in this work.
In other words, a return to the light, and more specifically, to the study of lighting with an illuminating source which aims at, indicates and, at times, misleads.
With his photographs, he seems to try to exorcise darkness, to prevent its coming or, at least, to extend it. An insignificant construction in the open space is lighted like a monument and unexpected geometrical points appear in the dim light. Humble landscapes acquire in one occasion the prestige of worth seeing and in another occasion reveal an unfamiliar side of things.
